In May 2022, the core team of one of Milady Maker’s rival NFT projects (Tubby Cats) wrote a thread attempting to cancel Milady and Remilia as a whole for everything they could stick against them. The meat of the claims came from wild misinterpretations of our founder’s 2018-2020 art project, Miya Cyber Angel Baby, confusing a work of fictional performance art for reality, as well as confusing Remilia with multiple unrelated other projects and individuals (e.g. the 2017 alternative reality game Tsuki Project).

The thread went viral and got reported on by media outlets who are always keen to attack crypto/NFT’s, and resulted in a price crash for Milady and the doxxing of Remilia members, including Charlotte Fang—but it was fully debunked by the next week, with the allegations cleared resulting in an almost immediate recovery to the price.

The Tubby Cats founder, and its co-leads, have since apologized and disavowed the thread, as well as many of the crypto influencers who originally believed them and promoted it, and Remilia has only gone on to further mainstream success.

It’s a pretty objective consensus to say Milady “beat the allegations”, with not just the thousands familiar with the Milady community recognizing all the original claims were false, but multiple successful new releases, collaborations, and engagement from people like Elon Musk, Grimes and Andreessen Horowitz since summer 2022.

A very detailed point-by-point debunking was shared on miladytruth.org as a resource for anyone that remained swayed—it has never had any of its content refuted. However, the old 2022 media coverage from when the thread went viral but before the debunking was published is occasionally resurfaced, so this statement is provided as a resource to link to the background and further reading for anyone concerned who would like to learn the context for themselves. It's safe to say we've completely beat the allegations.
